Nuisance flooding, the result of rising sea levels, causes public inconveniences such as frequent road closures, overwhelmed storm drains, and compromised infrastructure. A recent NOAA report documents that this type of flooding along U.S. coasts has increased between 300 and 925 percent since the 1960s.
