Incorporating Future Change into Current Conservation Planning - New Analysis of Tidal Saline Wetland Migration on the Gulf Coast

Across the northern Gulf of Mexico coast, natural resource managers are increasingly challenged to prepare for the effects of accelerated sea-level rise and rapid coastal development. With guidance from four Gulf coast LCCs, USGS researchers recently created products that can be used to identify areas where coastal wetlands will migrate landward under alternative sea-level rise and urbanization scenarios. These products are intended to be useful for future-focused conservation planning.
