Ecological Modeling Forum

Ecological Modeling Forum

We have created this forum to provide a venue for discussion of methods and application of ecological modeling in the context of natural resource management decisions being made relative to planning for climate change and creating landscapes that sustain fish, wildlife, and plants.  Our initial focus will be on species distribution modeling with an emphasis on climate envelope models.  We hope that topics will evolve as there is interest and need.

We also hope that discussions and connections made here will:

  • Enhance management relevance of ongoing projects.
  • Enhance coordination of efforts across the country to avoid duplication and ensure seamless products where appropriate.
  • Provide a forum for exchanging ideas and discussing methodological challenges and solutions.
  • Raise the visibility of science being used within FWS and the LCC to address climate change and other challenges to sustaining our fish and wildlife resources.
