Theme: FROM THE HEADWATERS TO HIGHTIDE – EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION
Explanation of theme: Current practice and research regarding the degradation and restoration of ecosystems in the southeastern region.
The Annual Symposium and Membership Meeting of the Southeastern Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) will be held from October 18-21, 2016 at the University of Florida/IFAS North Florida Research and Education Center, Quincy, Florida (NFREC-Quincy). Participants will be provided current project and research updates about ecological restoration from the southeastern United States. The conference will include invited talks and contributed papers about restoration issues in the Southeast, and field trips to selected sites in the general area.
The SE-SER includes professionals from a variety of disciplines including scientists, land managers, landscape architects, regulatory agency staff, engineers, community leaders, students, and practitioners that study, plan, and implement ecological restoration projects throughout the Southeastern US. Members of the SE-SER bring extensive experience in ecological restoration at various scales.
