Come join us for a sandhill restoration workshop and afternoon field tour on Tuesday, April 26th! Regional experts will explain findings from research designed to address management challenges and improve the results of restoration programs in sandhill ecosystems. In the morning, managers and researchers will lead a series of indoor technical presentations on the management implications of their work. After a delicious catered lunch, we'll load up and go on a special guided tour of the Ordway-Swisher Biological Station to continue the conversations and see examples of management challenges and opportunities.
Workshop topics include: returning fire to long-unburned sandhill stands, duff smoldering, strategies and philosophies for managing oaks, considerations for thinning longleaf stands, groundcover diversity restoration, and more!
Seating is limited and registration is required!
