Gadsden County Longleaf Pine Restoration Tour
WHAT: Workshop tours private landowner’s restored longleaf pine forest. The history of the property goes back to 1926 near the end of the turpentine era. They have restored the plant and animal communities—plants in bloom at the time of the tour include mountain laurel, Florida anise. Good opportunity for visuals and to show the benefits of this native ecosystem, especially for landowners who may be interested in doing the same on their property.

WHO: Landowners, managers and others interested in longleaf pine forest restoration and management. Presented by Florida’s Forest Stewardship Program. Partners include U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service, Florida Forest Service, University of Florida / IFAS, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
