Event Description

OCTOBER 1, 2016   –   10 am to 4 pm   –   Seawalk Pavilion, Jacksonville Beach, FL

Celebrate the beginning of calving season as the North Atlantic right whales make their annual return to the coastal waters off Georgia and northeastern Florida!

Sea to Shore Alliance and NOAA co-host this annual right whale extravaganza, and this event has been growing in popularity and now attracts over 4,000 people each year!

Join us for live music, food trucks, art and photography, kids’ activities and passport program, a bounce house, displays promoting water recreation and eco-tourism, art and unique gifts for sale, expert speakers, marine conservation organizations, and custom RWF t-shirts. Come early for the morning beach cleanup or the beach 5K race / 2.5K fun run!

This free, outdoor festival is for all ages and the perfect opportunity to learn about the threats currently facing right whales, like accidental ship strikes and entanglement in fishing gear. Despite federal protection, it’s believed that there are fewer than 550 North Atlantic right whales in existence today.

Visit for more information. More event details will be added in the coming weeks!
